GOODNESS GRACIOUS

No one is sure whether the phrase 'Goodness Gracious' started in the South, then caught on up North or if it was the other way around, but it is as commonplace as the word 'y'all' 'round these parts.

Now, unless you've been under a rock for the last 100 years, you should know by now that us Southerners have a special little knack for words down here and Goodness Gracious is a classic.  We use it to express excitement or surprise - "Well my goodness gracious, aren't you just as pretty as a Georgia peach!" or, in this case, "My goodness gracious, man alive!  Have you ever seen a prettier neon pink in all your years???"
